Luxury: Chanel sales approach $20 billion by 2023

Luxury goods group Chanel had another “exceptional year” in 2023, with record sales approaching $20 billion, half of which in Asia-Pacific. The house, founded by Coco Chanel and famous for its tweed suits and Numéro 5 perfume, posted sales up 14.6% to $19.7 billion, it announced in a press release on Tuesday. Profit growth slowed (+3%, versus +14.2% in 2022), but still brought it to $4.7 billion.
