Focus on bulk cosmetics: the new eco-responsible trend
Description
According to Réseau Vrac, the bulk sector in France will be worth around €3.2 billion by 2022, with cosmetics accounting for 25% of this figure.
The principle behind bulk packaging is simple: allow users to fill their containers from self-service dispensers, ad infinitum. First democratised thanks to organic food shops, the idea is now spreading to other areas.
For the beauty sector, retailers are offering liquid cosmetics and skincare products available in fountains; all consumers have to do is fill reusable glass bottles of the capacity of their choice.
In-store dispensing machines allow consumers to choose the right amount of product, avoiding waste and unnecessary plastic packaging.
