The Climate and Resilience Act 2021: carbon neutrality claims must now be proven
Description
Since 1 January 2023, the Climate and Resilience Act 2021 has required companies claiming that a product is carbon neutral to demonstrate this by means of a greenhouse gas emissions report.
This assessment must be updated every year and must cover the entire life cycle, from the production phase through to disposal or recycling. It must also explain how greenhouse gas emissions are first avoided, then reduced and finally ‘offset’.
