National low-carbon strategy
Description
The National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC) is France's roadmap for reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
It concerns all sectors of activity and must be supported by everyone: citizens, local authorities and businesses.
The national low-carbon strategy (SNCB) has two ambitions:
- To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, which implies dividing our greenhouse gas emissions by 6.
- Reduce France's carbon footprint
In the industrial sector, which accounted for 17% of emissions in 2017, the objectives are to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (compared with 2015) by 35% by 2030 and 81% by 2050.
