Regulations on deforestation
Description
The EUDR regulation on imported deforestation has an impact on the cosmetics sector, which uses numerous ingredients such as palm oil, cocoa, coffee and soy.
This regulation prohibits the marketing or export from the European Union of products derived from deforestation. Penalties for products not complying with European legislation are dissuasive. The amount of the fine can be as high as 4% of total annual sales in the European Union for the operator or trader who fails to comply with the rule.
