The objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the cosmetics industry
Description
The importance of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonising our industries in order to limit global warming no longer needs to be demonstrated.
Although responsible for ‘only’ 0.5 to 1.5% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions worldwide, the cosmetics industry intends to play its part in the collective effort, with a target of reducing GHGs by 55% by 2030.
The FEBEA has therefore launched a project to measure the sector's carbon footprint and identify the most effective ways of reducing it. A roadmap with detailed action plans should be unveiled in the second half of 2024.
